Reserve Deputies

The Golden Valley County Sheriff’s Office proudly works with a team of exemplary Reserve Deputies. Reserves Deputies are expected to posses all of the same traits of full time sworn officer, and volunteer their time to the community they serve.

Reserve Deputies are a volunteer service that assist full time officers in a variety of different tasks. Reserves can be called upon to help keep the peace for large events, to secure crime scenes, or to help back officers up on high risk calls, and to support the mission of the Sheriff’s Office as directed.

Reserves must complete 88 hours of training within two years as required by Montana Code Annotated 7-32-214 which includes crisis intervention, patrol procedure, criminal law, ethics, first aid, and firearms qualification.
